Jakub Adamec on his new album „Are You Human? Confirmed.“ tells us some stories. Concept is based on secret messages hidden in CAPTCHA forms, what they reveal, what they keep. This is a kind of remote poetry of our times, net-bots telling weird stories, sometimes we can understand what they say, in some cases information stays well kept. Your eyes only.

Musical effect is somehow similar – some tunes we can recognise, or we can find some parallel examples, other are completely mysterious, following their own „abstract“ directions. We have plenty of styles here, big choice, and because most of sounds are generated by electronic instruments there is actually no limit in possibilities. Huge puzzle, brick by brick, piece by piece we get quite nice, pleasant picture, dare to say – modern landscape. Colors, many of them. Glowing rainbow.
Life, Love, anxiety, rush, boredom, space, home, signals, bleeps, screens, screenshots, shots, being high, being low, big, small – all of it plus much more is told here by Jakub in this brave music.
He says „neutral facial expression“, but for sure at some moments your brow will go higher, smile on your face will appear, or slight thunder of fear, nice or painfull, it’s all up to circumstances.

Jakub Adamec might be known for some from the band I LOVE 69 POPGEJU. They are from Czech Republic. It is kind of important situation. Their recent album „Let’s Gold Corridor“ was critically aclaimed (by some) as „probably the best czech album ever recorded“, and even if such opinion is always risky and controversial, we can’t say that it is completely not right.
Jakub lives in Poland for some years already, cooperates and collaborates with polish and czech artists. He deal with various art-zones, his psuchedelic, post-pop magma is constantly on the edge of eruption. He is very brave author, quite radical, defenses his visions in every detail, without compromise.
TRAVELLING IN TIME
He juggles with samples and snippets of media-noise, adds some fairy-tale vibes, massacred cheesy pop hits, tv radiations and transmissions from the inner and outer spaces, ghosts and strange aetheral creatures are also present – all of it and much more we have on this album. Each detail is the part of narrative lines, works with others, some elements becomes symbols. Most of them probably we can’t decode, but or goal should be to just have a pleasure of listening, mind is stimulated, brain caressed. This is not a complicated music, even if seems to, all the problems can be in the listener, not in this music itself. But relax, and fly, he is whispering directly into YOUR ear. There is so much emotion here, intimacy and freedom, feelings.
„TRAVELLING IN TIME (ŚWIEŻY KURZ/SVĚŽÍ KURZ)“ summs up actions he did so far, but as title says we travel in time from the past and we should land in future. All the tracks are based on soundtracks which Jakub made for his own videos through the years, but he rebuilded all of them, developed the stories, lack of visible he fulfilled with audible, music and words.
The result is kind of diary or journal, working as the mirror, where the whole world around looks for the reflection. Prisms and caleidoscopes. And rays.
TRAVELLING IN TIME
Jakub says and sings in various languages, mostly in czech and polish, also in english, why not, plus some alien ones.
When you take the sounds from movies and leave them lonesome, they start immediately to project their own visions. On this album such effect is very strong, tricks are endless, listener is seduced and pleased. Colors, spaces, sadness and joy, close and far. We fly throug time, or we just only levitate, surrounded by life. Empty cloud or hail cloud. Optics science and rainbow light. Please spread the good.
Album is nicely packaged, lot of especially prepared graphics by the Author himself. It is important.

Takže materiál na desku vznikal v průběhu posledního roku a víc. Nevím přesně. A není to úplně podstatné. Každopádně se v něm určitě nějakým způsobem odráží změny a stavy, kterýma jsem za poslední rok prošel. To znamená i v osobním i v profesním životě i jednoduše jen tak v životě. Protože to není jen o hudbě, ne? Ukončil jsme dlouholetý vztah, který byl už příliš dlouho trápením. Změnil jsem práci. Přestěhoval jsem se z českého maloměsta do polského velkoměsta.
Takže jako vždy se v nahrávce dají najít vztahy. A kromě toho také zájem o mimozemskou civilizaci, hledání pravdy o životě – jeho smyslu – ve skutečnosti i na internetech.
Neklid, nepokoj, ale momentama taky zen a harmonie. Krása i šum. Ostrý pohled i halucinace a opojení. Minulost i budoucnost, a hlavně přítomnost. Málo slov, více abstrakce. Dost melodií, ale i zvuky z kosmu a z netu. Celkem dost kopáku, protože dokud srdíčko bije, kopák jede. Světlo i temnota.

Člověče, stačí ti to takhle?
Materiał zamieszczony na płycie został stworzony w ciągu ostatniego roku i więcej. Dokładnie nie pamiętam i nie jest to aż takie ważne. W każdym razie odzwierciedla on pewne zmiany i stany, których przeszedłem w ciągu tego okresu. To znaczy w życiu osobistym i zawodowym lub tak po prostu w życiu. Bo to po prostu nie tylko o muzykę chodzi, prawda? Skończyłem długotrwały związek, który był już zbyt długo nieszczęśliwym. Zmieniłem pracę. Przeniosłem się z małego czeskiego miasteczka do dużego polskiego miasta. Tak, jak zawsze, na nagraniu można znaleźć najróżniejsze relacje. A poza tym także zainteresowanie pozaziemską cywilizacją, poszukiwanie prawdy o życiu – jego znaczeniu – w rzeczywistości i w internecie.
Niepokój, pobudzenie, ale także momenty zen i harmonia. Piękno i szum. Ostre patrzenie, czysty umysł i halucynacje i odurzenie. Przeszłość i przyszłość, a głównie teraźniejszość. Kilka słów, więcej abstrakcji. Ładne melodie, ale także dźwięki kosmosu i z neta. Całkiem dość bass drumu w rytmice, bo póki co serce bije, to stopę słychać. Światło i ciemność.
