IL69PG’s permeated the music scene since 2001. They represent nobility and the riff raff in a single embodiment. Someone call their expression as an apocalyptic dance, someone disaster Nu Disco, but for all of them, PG’s are the light at the end of the tunnel.
In 2011, on the release of their debut vinyl “Let’s Gold Corridor”, they poured out uncompromising auditory time bomb summarizing their artistic growth. “Debut album of the electro-punk ‘terrorists’ I Love 69 Popgejů is one of the most original musical event of the last decade. However, it’s highly likely that unprepared noobie might be exposed to a decent nervous breakdown.” (Karel Veselý, Nový prostor, 2011). “ The best Czech act, which has never received any music award. PG’s tottering on the fluffy footbridge between poorly concealed insanity, admitted submission of the mainstream hypnosis and punk’s: ‘Fuck off!’, spitted to the faces of those, who have brain colonized by the fictive archetype of the global superstar.” (snatch from the PG’s venue invitation, organized by Czech magazine A2, Prague, 2012). Well, I Love 69 Popgejů are back now, with a new album. Album, that doesn’t leave any shadows of doubts on our pure souls about how seriously we should take them.

LIDUMIL HERETIK
I Love 69 Popgejů // Piča z Hoven:
A conceptual and, in spite of their name, a decent band PZH released their debut album “Doom na kraji lesa/ The Doom on the Edge of the Forest” in 2012. “Although, the band’s name would suit a redneck rally better, PZH debut sounds extremely gravelly, strenuous and classy. Fundamental advantage of PZH is that they overpower usual awkwardness of the mainstream internet production because of their lyrics in Czech language. A vulnerable girly voice screaming brutalities.” (Pavel Turek, Respekt, 2012). Wiki adds: “…a considerable attention has been drawn particularly by their cover version of the Slovak National Anthem in Czech language, which bring them popularity in the Eastern ‘foreign countries’.” “They are not played in a radio stations, perhaps because DJ’s think they’ll be cursed.“ (snatch from the PZH’s invitation, organized by A4, Bratislava). PZH describe their dark electronic sound as ‘Doom Pop’.

I Love 69 Popgejů // Piča z Hoven:
Both bands share together an overlap between audio and video – it’s blending, blurring of boundaries, irony, absurdity, drama and pathos. They even share resemblance of being hated and resented in certain circles of the ‘Czechoslovakian music scene’.

LET’S GOLD CORRIDOR
Let’s Gold Corridor is the name of the debut long-playing records (gold vinyls limited edition of 275 units) of Silesian-Wallachian group I LOVE 69 POPGEJU and it is out now.
12 tracks comes under the heading of their own Vole Love Production with the distribution by Malarie Record Label. The material was recorded over two years in improvised studios mostly in Ostrava, in Wallachian Bystrica and in Zilina. Records was mixed and mastered by Don Mirvald (JackJack).
Duo Jakub Adamec and Pavel Pernický in their work beyond the boundaries between music and visual arts. Audio-visual, physical and colored disco-punk plus always fresh radical camping dekadancefloor. Evidence from the keyboard pumped at different rates in varying styles mix of disco and punk, country and religious music, electro with the circus, all with the addition of playfulness and irresistible narcissism, decadence and sleaze.
LET’S GOLD CORRIDOR
On these album they were trying capture the energy and intensity of live concerts.
Duet occasionally collaborates with Petr Marek (director, Midi Lidi, etc.), who also appears on the album as a guest on several tracks.
Inherent in the visual component is in charge of the court VJ Magda Jańczuk.
LET’S GOLD CORRIDOR
Popgeju are pioneers trashy flurry of art coming from the central-east Europe.
Their live show strip animal appetites and unconscious forces drop inhibitions. This train stops at the station Fuck (dance, have fun and laugh or be affraid). PeeGees are competition winners of Malá Alternativa 2009.
LET’S GOLD CORRIDOR
If William Wallace in the final scene of A Braveheart as he shouted his last words: “Popgejuuu” would mean the same thing as “Freedom!”.
Because it feels PeeGee’s hearts, it is for them the basics. They are not afraid to go their own way, forming the new own trends, what makes them a genuine phenomenon in the Czech independent and underground art scene.
